Vilnius String Quartet
“Their sound is extraordinary: Rich like fine chocolate.”
—Boston Globe

Saturday, January 19th, 2008 - 8:15 p.m.
Occidental Community Church, Occidental

The creative work of the Vilnius String Quartet constitutes a whole epoch of Lithuania’s cultural life and is an example of the musicians’ deep sense of mission. During four decades, they have established a unique tradition of interpretation, noted for the ability to reveal the deepest layers of the meaning of music from various epochs. “The group’s ensemble is virtually flawless: it is warm with a unanimity many players only dream of achieving. There is also an intangible oneness that eludes analysis and that, as with the best marriages, is the hallmark of only the most mature and mutually nourishing relationships.” - The Boston Globe
