Saturday, November 15, 2007 - 8:15 p.m.
Glaser Center, Santa Rosa

Since 1979, audiences from Maine to Hawaii and Borneo to Bolivia have called Hesperus everything from brilliant and eclectic to inspiring and just plain wonderful. Why? Because Hesperus makes connections between the rich musical past and 21st century concert goers through its collaborations with film, dance, mime, theater and world music.
Hesperus, innovative, historically informed and multicultural, specializes in fusions of historic and living traditions. A past ensemble-in-residence at the Carmel Bach Festival in Carmel, California and the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History; this six time WAMMIE Award from the Washington Area Music Association will treat the Redwood Arts Council with an entertaining performance of ballads, marches and breakdowns from the American Civil to Buster Keaton’s silent film, The General.
